I had a hard time making friends, and I now realize you aren't in high school to make friends; you're there to begin making a name for yourself. Drama and problems with other students are so common, and although it's way easier said than done, you have to ignore it. If you have one or two friends, well, that's way better than a whole group you can't relate to. To this day, I look at lowerclassmen oddly because so many of them care too much about socializing. Lastly, understand the social hierarchy of high school is absolutely wrong. Right now, it's ‘Who's cool?’ and things like that, but, in the end, the hierarchy that matters is your class rank. It's so crucial that you stay high up in that ranking if you plan on going to college.”

The class Evelyn enjoyed the most was art because she loves painting and cracking jokes with Seynabou. Her biggest pet peeve is when a teacher tries to explain something, but students would keep talking and not pay attention.

Outside of school, Evelyn enjoys sleeping, watching netflix, and eating. If she had one wish it would be to have better basketball skills. The three words that best describe her are mature, committed, and generous.

When Evelyn was little she wanted to be a firefighter.  After High School, Evelyn plans to attend to Graceland University and become a Neonatal Nurse.  In 10 years, she sees herself working at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Three things on her bucket list are skydiving, visit Kennedy Space Center in Florida, and go to the Bahamas.

The person Evelyn admires most is her mom because she has always been there for her and she believes that Evelyn is going to do great things in life.

The coach that had the biggest impact on Evelyn is Nathan Simler because he has never gave up on her and always encourages her to do the best.  He sees great potential in Evelyn that she does not sees on herself. Harry Doak also had a big impact on Evelyn as a coach.  When she first started playing basketball in 8th grade, she didn’t know english, but Harry was very patient with her.

The thing Evelyn will miss the most about Milan C-2 High School is going to the elementary and help kindergarten students.  If there was one way she could be remembered at MHS, it would be by her humility. The advice Evelyn would give underclassmen is to not procrastinate.

Joshua 1:9 ”Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
