The 2019-2020 basketball season came to an end but we did not get to honor the team/players' accomplishments with a banquet or with the public. This isn’t how we wanted to do things but this is the hand we were dealt this year.
First, I want to thank all of my family for supporting me as I took on this new position. Second, I want to thank Dr. Yocum, Mr. Hostetter, Mrs. Gardner, and the Board of Education for giving me this opportunity. Finally, I want to thank Coach Micheal, Ashley Pauley, both Coach Dabneys, Marion, and Emerson for helping me out. It was greatly appreciated.
Team: We ended the season with 16 wins and 9 losses after starting with 3 wins and 4 losses. The season wins is the most since the 2011-2012 season and the third-most wins in the last 12 years. We were 4th place in the Tri-Rivers tournament and 2nd place in the Milan Tournament. We also won our first district game since 2011-2012. Our biggest accomplishment was winning the first-ever Conference Championship in Milan Lady Cat History. This was a goal from the start of last summer (#banneryear) and we will get to hang that banner in our new gym this fall.
