April is flying by, and before we know it, we will be enjoying our summer vacation. Before we go, we have so many things to do. MAP testing will begin on April 22nd and 23rd in some areas of the district. Parents, please remember to have your students to school on time and help us out by ensuring they have a good night's sleep and eat a good breakfast. I know this time of year brings a little added stress with the testing season. Our teachers have worked hard all year to prepare our students for success on the MAP and EOC tests. When you see a teacher, thank them for all their hard work. 

Our spring sports are in full swing, and we are nearly halfway through their seasons. I encourage you to get out and watch our baseball team or attend a track/golf meet. Our student athletes are working hard in the classroom and on the field. Spring sports take students out of the classroom more often, so we have to remember to be more diligent with school work reminders and finishing all unfinished classroom work. 

The first full week of May is Teacher Appreciation Week. Our teachers are the heart and soul of our school district! Without them, all the great things that happen and are happening at Milan C-2 would not be possible!!! I do believe our teachers at Milan C-2 are the best!! Your hard work and dedication does not go unnoticed!! THANK YOU!!

We extend a helping hand to those in search of assistance, regardless of race, creed, or religion. Our organization stands as a beacon of support, illuminating the path for all children in their journey. Smithfield has sponsored more shoes for our school district, and we are so very thankful for their generosity!!!

WAY TO GO, Keaton Weter, for recording your 200th Strikeout!!! Our Wildcats are 2-5 overall. If you have not had a chance yet, please plan to get out there and cheer on our baseball team.

The Wildcat Relays will be held on Wednesday, April 23rd. For a list of our current record holders, please check out our website. We update the record holder list after each of the wildcat relays. There were some new records set this past Wednesday. 

We also had Daniel Castellon break a school record. Daniel ran a 10.26.72 at the Scotland County Relays. The previous record of 10.26.80 was held by Nathan Keck. Way to go, Daniel!!! 

We had several students attend the State Competition from April 23- 29th. Good Luck to all FFA Team Members participating at the State Convention.

On Monday, April 14th, former MC2 student Adan Callejo and the Truman State Band performed for our High School students. It was a fantastic performance, and it was amazing to see one of our former students doing so well. Way to go, Adan… keep up the hard work!!! 

National Administrative Professionals' Day, also known as Secretaries Day or Admin Day, recognizes the professionals who keep an office running smoothly every day. Celebrate these professionals on the Wednesday of the last full week in April of each year. The day recognizes the work of secretaries, administrative assistants, receptionists, and other administrative support professionals. Central to any business, these professionals keep an office organized and efficient. This year, Administrative Professionals Day is on April 23, 2025. Please join us in thanking Mrs. Binkley, Mrs. Richardson, Mrs. Weter, Mrs. Webb, and Mrs. Proffitt for all that they do!!! We appreciate all of you so very much!!! 

Summer school will run from May 21, 2025, to June 13, 2025. Please join us for our summer adventure. Students will attend various sporting events and trips. Academically, we will extend the school year in our core subjects with enrichment activities in the afternoon each day. We will also travel to Chili Bay toward the end of the summer session.
