The Milan C-2 School District is a National FFA champion team. The four-member team from Milan captured the FFA Knowledge Leadership Development Event on Tuesday, Oct 31st, during the 2023 National FFA Convention in Indianapolis.
The Milan C-2 team qualified for the national competition in the FFA knowledge category by securing first place at the Missouri FFA Convention held in April in Columbia. The team members, as identified by the Missouri FFA Association, are Lexus Fordyce, Gracie Simpson, Addison Sylvester, and Hayden Courtney, with Jarred Sayre serving as their advisor.
Each state had the opportunity to advance one team to the national FFA competition.
The Missouri FFA Association has reported that knowledge teams dedicate numerous hours to studying for the 100-question test that covers FFA history and details about the National FFA Organization.
This team completed a perfect season last spring, receiving first place at all competitions they attended. The group began with winning a few practice competitions in March. They continued to work and took first place at the Area III and Northeast District competitions. This qualified them for the Missouri State FFA Leadership Development Event in April, where they yet again took first. The team continued to prepare, study and take numerous tests to succeed at the National Competition this past week. Congratulations to the students for winning the 2023 National FFA Quiz Competition.

Congratulations to Nina Gray (teacher) and Kylee Smith (student) for receiving “Wildcat of the Week” for their courageous display of character during a time of assistance in our high school. Their character stands STRONG with who they are and for our school/community.

We hope our FFA Knowledge Team and Advisors can hear us SCREAMING CONGRATULATIONS from back home! We are so proud of you! All of that hard work and dedicated studying definitely paid off!!! #GoalMet #NationalChamps #FFAKnowledge

Attention Patrons Attending Friday Night's District Football Game:
For the purpose of postseason games, the Milan C-2 Facility will operate as a neutral site per the MSHSAA guidelines. That means some of our traditions will not take place before/during/after the game and some parking designations will be impacted.
Gates will be open at 5:30 and be taking cash for the $6 entry fee for Round 1 of District Play. No passes will be allowed at the gate. Anyone not working the game will have to pay to enter. Additionally, no one will be allowed to park inside the gates/enter the game until 5:30. Handicap spaces will be marked on the south hill and anyone parked in those spots will be required to have a handicap tag/plate.
Our band (and the visiting band if they choose to bring theirs) will be seated on each end of the field beyond the end zones to save space in our bleachers for fans. Student sections will be on opposite ends of the bleachers down in front.
Please see the attached map for parking information.

There is NO tutoring or homework helper for the elementary students today, October 31, 2023.

If your child sold trash bags, please come to the Elementary Office to pick them up. They are too heavy to be sent home with students. You may pick them up during school hours.
