
🎓SENIOR SPOTLIGHT🎓
Deric Doporto will be a 2022 graduate of Milan C-2 High School and is the son of Paula McCabe and Edgar Doporto and brother of Jade and Darren Doporto and Nathen McCabe. His favorite activity to do with his family is going to grandpa's house and having dinner. His favorite childhood memory is going turkey hunting with grandpa.
Deric has been involved in track (2 years), baseball (4 years), and football (4 years) at Milan C-2. The activity he enjoys most is football because he gets to spend time with his friends doing what he loves. His favorite high school memory is when his team played Hamilton Penney for districts and went into double overtime.
The class Deric enjoyed the most was Chemistry because you never know what is going to happen each day. His biggest pet peeve is when people chew with their mouth open. Outside of school, Deric enjoys going hunting and fishing. If he had one wish it would be to own a big farm. The three words that best describe him are athletic, outgoing, and leader.
After High School, Deric plans to attend Central Methodist University to play football and track and major in physical therapy. In 10 years, he sees himself trying out for the NFL. Three things on his bucket list are killing a 200 inch deer, catching a record fish, and owning cows.
The person he admires most is his grandpa, Paul McCabe, because no matter what was going on he was always there. The teacher that had the biggest impact on Deric is Mrs. Herington because she is always there if you need anything and always has an answer to any question you ask.
Deric will miss his friends the most from his time at Milan C-2 High School. If there was one way he could be remembered at MHS, it would be as the kid that always had a beard since 6th grade. The advice Deric would give underclassmen is, “Never take your freshman year for granted because it will come back to haunt you.”

5th and 6th Grade Students that earned their AR points for the year will travel to Skyzone tomorrow 5/6/22. The bus will leave at 7:00 am. Meet in front of the cafeteria. They may bring extra money for snacks. Pizza will be provided for lunch.


🎓SENIOR SPOTLIGHT🎓
Marcos Lopez will be a 2022 graduate of Milan C-2 High School and is the son of Teresa Carrillo and Armando Alvarado and brother to Efren Lopez. His favorite activity to do with his family is going to visit his brother Efren in California. His childhood best friend is Zack Banner whom he shares his favorite memory with when they would go to MLB games together.
Marcos has been involved in FFA (4), NHS (1), Science Club (2), and Baseball (4) at Milan C-2. The activity he enjoys most is FFA because it has opened so many doors for him and has revealed his true passion. While Marcos has multiple favorite high school memories, his favorite memory by far is attending the National FFA Convention because he got to meet new friends from all over the United States.
The classes Marcos enjoyed the most were both P.E. and A&P. The reason he enjoyed those classes was because throughout the year he had made a special bond with his classmates in those two classes. Having an awesome teacher in those classes was an additional benefit. His biggest pet peeve is people squeezing his nose.
Outside of school Marcos enjoys hunting, hanging out with his girlfriend, and working. If he had one wish it would be to fill up his truck for free. The three words that best describe him are hardworking, honest, and funny.
After High School, Marcos plans to attend State Technical College of Missouri and obtain his certification in Heavy Machinery Operations. In 10 years, he sees himself owning his own excavation company, married, owning and running his own operation.
Three things on his bucket list are to visit Cody, Wyoming, meet Patrick Mahomes, and go on mule deer hunt in Canada.
The person he admires most is his dad because he looks up to his work ethic, how reserved he is, and admires how he puts his own family before himself. The teacher that had the biggest impact on Marcos is Mr. Sayre because he helped him discover what his true passion is.
The thing Marcos will miss the most about Milan C-2 High School is being in FFA and walking into an AG class every day. The advice Marcos would give underclassmen is, “Take advantage of the time you have because next thing you know you're graduating.”

The Home Baseball game today Vs Brookfield 5-4-22 has been canceled due to muddy field conditions. This game might be rescheduled to sometime next week.

Luis Fernando Elizalde will be a 2022 graduate of Milan C-2 High School and is the son of Breatiz and Rogelio Elizalde and brother Valeria Elizalde. His favorite activity to do with his family is making carne asadas in the backyard. His favorite childhood memory is going to the beach in Mexico with the family.
Fernando has been involved in FBLA for 1 year and Votech for 2 years at Milan C-2. The activity he enjoys most is playing many different types of sports during P.E. class because everyone would get really competitive in the gym. His favorite high school memory is when his grade would play in volleyball tournaments against other grades and would win most of them.
The class Fernando enjoyed the most was P.E. because everyone would be so competitive in volleyball and they would all start yelling at each other for no reasoning. His biggest pet peeve is when people would talk bad about others behind their backs but cannot say it to them.
Outside of school, Fernando enjoys spending time with his family watching movies. If he had one wish it would be to be able to see his whole family succeed in life.
After High School, Fernando plans to go to Ranken Technical College in St Louis, Missouri to earn his certification as an automotive mechanic. In 10 years, he sees himself owning his own mechanics shop. Three things on his bucket list are to visit all the states in Mexico, go sky diving, and try Nascar racing.
The people he admires most are his parents because they have always been supportive throughout his entire life and helped him throughout his struggles in school. The teacher that had the biggest impact on Fernando is Mrs Yocom because she has taught him everything about financial income and anything that could be a struggle on making and spending money.
The thing Fernando will miss the most about Milan C-2 High School is whenever some of his friends would sometimes mess around during class. The advice Fernando would give underclassmen is, “Study hard because life can be a huge struggle if you don’t focus on your goals.”


Kindergarten will be going to the Milan City Park tomorrow, 5/5/22 from 12:15 pm to 2:30 pm. Please make sure students are dressed appropriately for the weather. All students should wear tennis shoes.

Andrea V Alonso Alvarez will be a 2022 graduate of Milan C-2 High School and is the daughter of Brenda Alvarez and Ricardo Alonso and sister of Mela Alonso Alvarez. Her favorite activities to do with her family are watching movies together and going on road trips.
Her biggest pet peeve is when people act better than the rest, and when others are disrespectful.
Outside of school, Andrea enjoys sleeping, being with friends and loved ones, and being with her pets. If she had one wish it would be to travel the word expense free. The three words that best describe her are caring, smart, and laidback.
After High School, Andrea plans to find a job she enjoys and save money to travel. In 10 years, she sees herself living in a house in the woods with her pets, her significant other, and living comfortably. Three things on her bucket list are to travel, ride in a hot air balloon, and to see the northern lights.
The person she admires most is her mom because she has always believed in Andrea and has always been by her side. Andrea said she's the strongest person she knows and the most caring person. “She brings such light, happiness, and comfort to my life.”
The advice Andrea would give underclassmen is, “Don't slack, have fun, and try your best.”

The Milan Elementary and Middle School Honor Choir will be performing two performances on May 4th. The first performance will be for the Mary Immaculate school at 10 am and the second performance will be for the Rotary Club at 12:30 pm at the Nazarene Church in Kirksville Mo.


Today’s 5-2-22 HOME baseball game Vs Princeton has been moved up to a 4:30 PM START due to the weather forecast. Seniors will be honored at 4:15 PM.


Join us at the Legion Field tonight to honor our Senior Baseball Players! Players will be recognized before the game.
