🎉🎉2026 Senior Spotlight 🎉🎉Today, we’re celebrating one of our seniors! 🎓
Valentin Anaya Bahena will be a 2026 graduate of Milan C-2 High School. He is the son of Esteban Anaya Figueroa and Maria Azucena Bahena De Leon. He is the brother of Apolinar, Yadira, and Rocio. His favorite activity to do with his family is riding horses. His favorite childhood memory is playing soccer with his cousins and friends. At Milan C-2, the activity he has enjoyed most is playing volleyball because he participates with his classmates and enjoys it.
His favorite high school memory is when he and his team reached the semifinals in a volleyball tournament. The class Valentin has enjoyed the most is Weights because it helps him stay healthy and in shape. His biggest pet peeve is when people are not sincere.
Outside of school, Valentin enjoys going for walks, playing soccer, and playing volleyball with his friends. If he had one wish, it would be to speak English fluently. Three words that best describe him are kind, respectful, and humble.
After high school, Valentin plans to work. In 10 years, he sees himself living with his family and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. His bucket list includes building a house for his parents, visiting the Statue of Liberty, and writing a book about his life.
The people he admires most are his parents because they have taught him to be a good person. The teachers who have had the greatest impact on him are Mrs. Jaques and Mrs. Diaz because they have provided him with many valuable life skills.
Valentin will miss seeing his teachers and friends every day at Milan C-2 High School. He hopes to be remembered as a kind person who enjoyed helping other students. His advice to underclassmen is to dedicate their time at school to learning as much as possible, to never give up, and to remember that nothing is impossible.

Junior Antonio Sanchez Lopez will be a 2026 graduate of Milan C-2 High School. He is the son of Juan Antonio Sanchez Manueles and Elsa Floribet Lopez Gomez and the brother of Hanyer Josue Sanchez Lopez. His favorite activity to do with his family is sharing a good meal together. His favorite childhood memory is playing soccer with his friends.
The activity he enjoys most is playing soccer because he has fun with his friends and enjoys winning. His favorite high school memory is going on a trip to Chillicothe, where he played pool with his friends.
The class Junior has enjoyed the most is PE because he played volleyball with his friends. His biggest pet peeve is when people spread rumors.
Outside of school, Junior enjoys fishing, playing video games, and spending time with his family. If he had one wish, it would be to buy his mother a house and purchase his dream truck. Three words that best describe him are serious, shy, and kind.
After high school, Junior plans to work. In 10 years, he sees himself owning and operating a successful farm. His bucket list includes traveling to Brazil to see the Christ the Redeemer statue, watching a soccer match in Barcelona, Spain, and going skydiving.
The people he admires most are his parents because they give him advice and work very hard. The teachers who have had the greatest impact on him are Mrs. Jaques and Mrs. Diaz because they helped him learn more English.
Junior will miss seeing and talking with his friends every day at Milan C-2 High School. He hopes to be remembered as a very shy person who made a strong effort to socialize with others. His advice to underclassmen is to focus on their studies so they can have a better life.

🎉🎉2026 Senior Spotlight 🎉🎉Today, we’re celebrating one of our seniors! 🎓
Malick Kouta will be a 2026 graduate of Milan C-2 High School. He is the son of Cheikh Kouta and Mame Fatou Niass and the brother of Aliou Kouta, Omar Kouta, Ibrahim Kouta, and Kine Kouta. His favorite activities to do with his family are playing FIFA 2026 and watching movies together. His favorite childhood memory is playing soccer in the street with his friends.
Malick has been involved in basketball for one year at Milan C-2. He most enjoys playing basketball and volleyball with his friends because these activities have helped him get to know others and become involved in the school community.
His favorite high school memory is scoring his first points in basketball while his friends and Coach Dabney cheered for him. The class he has enjoyed the most is ELL because it helped him improve his English and connect with other students who shared their cultures.
His biggest pet peeve is when he is trying to work, and other students are talking and distracting him.
Outside of school, Malick enjoys playing soccer, watching soccer matches on television, and working at Casey’s to provide food for others. If he had one wish, it would be to become wealthy so he could help his family and others in need. Three words that best describe him are respectful, calm, and easygoing.
After high school, Malick plans to join the military or enter the workforce. In 10 years, he sees himself working a good job, getting married, and taking care of his family. His bucket list includes traveling to England to watch Premier League matches, making a pilgrimage to Mecca with his father, and building and owning his own home.
The person he admires most is his father, who has helped him pursue his dreams and has always provided strong guidance. The teacher who has had the greatest impact on him is Mrs. Jaques, who has helped him improve his English and strengthen his math and reading skills while also offering valuable advice.
Malick will miss playing with his friends and seeing them every day at Milan C-2 High School. He hopes to be remembered as “the tall, kind kid.” His advice to underclassmen is to keep working hard because life is not easy, never give up, and remember that anything is possible.

Jonathan Lottin Cortez will be a 2026 graduate of Milan C-2 High School. He is the son of Gabriel and Rocio Cortez and the brother of Juan and Carlos Cortez. His favorite activity to do with his family is spending quality time together. His favorite childhood memory is hanging out with his cousins in Mexico.
Jonathan has been involved in Multicultural Club (1) and track (1) at Milan C-2. The activity he enjoys most is track because he has made new friends and has become a better athlete overall. His favorite high school memory is competing in volleyball tournaments, even though his team never won.
The class Jonathan enjoyed the most was Spanish. His biggest pet peeve is when people walk slowly and are loud for no reason.
Outside of school, Jonathan enjoys playing video games and hanging out with friends. If he had one wish, it would be to meet his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo. The three words that best describe him are funny, dedicated, and nonchalant.
After high school, Jonathan plans to attend NCMC and study business. In 10 years, he sees himself marrying the love of his life and owning his own business. Three things on his bucket list are going to a Bruno Mars concert, traveling to Japan, and visiting Anfield.
The person he admires most is his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo, for his relentless work ethic, incredible consistency, and journey from humble beginnings to becoming one of the greatest football players. The teacher who had the biggest impact on Jonathan is Mr. Hayes because he helped him improve in math.
The thing Jonathan will miss most about Milan C-2 High School is seeing all his friends in one place, along with his cadet kids. If there were one way he could be remembered at MHS, it would be for his ability to get along with everyone and for his aura. The advice Jonathan would give underclassmen is to cherish every day of high school and not be afraid to talk to new people, because you never know what it could lead to.

Logan Lea will be a 2026 graduate of Milan C-2 High School. He is the son of Casey Smith and the brother of Noah Lea. His favorite activity to do with his family is watching television. His favorite childhood memory is playing with trucks and cars with his brother Noah when they were younger.
Logan has been involved in Wildcat Tasty Zone since his sophomore year at Milan C-2. The activity he enjoys most is playing Fortnite because he likes the costumes in the game.
His favorite high school memory is playing team dodgeball in P.E. with America, Jasmine, Marian, Cristal, and Santiago.
The class Logan has enjoyed the most is P.E. because of the fun games that are played. His biggest pet peeve is unwanted comments in class.
Outside of school, Logan enjoys going to the gas station to buy soda. If he had one wish, it would be to have some Dr Pepper. The three words that best describe him are awesome, funny, and adorable.
After high school, Logan plans to work. In 10 years, he sees himself living on his own. Three things on his bucket list are seeing a tornado in person, flying on a plane, and driving a Cybertruck.
The person he admires most is Jordan Cowgill because he is a good friend. The teacher who had the biggest impact on Logan was Mr. Dabney because he made school enjoyable.
The thing Logan will miss most about Milan C-2 High School is seeing Jordan Cowgill every day. If there were one way he could be remembered at MHS, it would be for his dodgeball skills. The advice Logan would give underclassmen is to use their Chromebook correctly.

🎉🎉2026 Senior Spotlight 🎉🎉Today, we’re celebrating one of our seniors! 🎓
Gerardo Alvarez Rodriguez will be a 2026 graduate of Milan C-2 High School and is the son of Angelica Rodriguez and Gerardo Vega, and is the brother of Juan Alvarez. His favorite activity to do with his family is traveling to Mexico. His favorite childhood memory is when he and his brother won 1st and 2nd in the elementary track and field day boys' 100m dash.
Gerardo has been involved in Football (1), FFA(1), and Track (4) at Milan C-2. The activity he enjoys most is going to track practice and competing with his friends because that is what challenges him to become better.
His favorite high school memory is when he went to Kirksville's track meet, and Cesar was still in the bleachers sleeping while his teammates needed him down at the track to get warmed up and ready for the 4x2; they were the next heat.
The class Gerardo enjoyed the most was P.E because he enjoyed playing volleyball every day with his friends. His biggest pet peeve is when people don't answer their phone calls or messages. Outside of school, Gerardo enjoys being with his family and being outdoors with his brother.
If he had one wish, it would be to go back to the 5th and 6th grades and pass them so that he wouldn't miss his trip to Mexico with his parents. The three words that best describe him are athletic, humble, and quiet.
After High School, Gerardo plans to go to the workforce. In 10 years, he sees himself with a good job and owning a Shelby GT350. Three things on his bucket list are to travel to Japan, live in Mexico for a while, and hit 315 on the bench press.
The people he admires most are his mom and dad because his mom always told him to keep going and that anything is possible with God. His dad would say to put in the effort, and it will all pay off eventually.
The coaches who had the biggest impact on Gerardo are Coach Melnick and Coach Cole because Coach Melnick cared about making him and his teammates the best they could be, and Coach Cole because he saw potential in him and his teammates that they didn’t see in themselves.
The thing Gerardo will miss the most about Milan C-2 High School is playing volleyball with his friends in P.E and track season. If there was one way he could be remembered at MHS, it would be that he was decently athletic. The advice Gerardo would give underclassmen is to do it for your family, especially your parents, because they raised you and don't want to fail them.
