🎓 SENIOR SPOTLIGHT 🎓
Brady Scott Sayre will be a 2022 graduate of Milan C-2 High School and is the son of Jarred and Missy Sayre and brother of Erin Sayre, Brett Sayre, Avery Sayre. His favorite activity to do with his family is Watching baseball or softball. His favorite childhood memory is going to Dyersville, Iowa where Field of Dreams is located and playing ball and getting so sunburned.
Brady has been involved in FFA, Basketball, and Baseball for all four years and Student counsel for one while at Milan C-2. The activity he enjoys most is Baseball because playing Varsity baseball with his brother is something he will cherish for the rest of his life. His favorite high school memory is winning a District title in basketball this year when everyone counted his team out.
The class Brady enjoyed the most was Ag Class because he was fortunate enough to have his Dad as a teacher and he is someone that always pushed, and still pushes, Brady to be the best person he can be.
Outside of school, Brady enjoys playing ball and working on the farm with family and friends. The three words that best describe him are courageous, talkative, and stubborn.
After High School, Brady plans to attend Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri where he will major in Graphic Design and plans to play baseball. In 10 years, he sees himself working for a high market company designing collegiate or professional uniforms. The person he admires most is his Mom. He admires her for going back to school to become a teacher. He is proud of her fulfilling her dream to be a teacher.
The thing Brady will miss the most about Milan C-2 High School is playing baseball and basketball with people he grew up with. If there was one way he could be remembered at MHS, it would be getting hurt all the time whether he was playing basketball or baseball--if he was involved in any activities he was getting hurt.

Reminders: There will be no school Monday 4/18/22.

Jennifer Bahena will be a 2022 graduate of Milan C-2 High School and is the daughter of Irma and the late Fernando Bahena and sister of Fernando Jr. and Edgar Bahena. Her favorite activity to do with her family is celebrating birthdays. Her favorite childhood memory is watching Hannah Montana.

Her favorite high school memory is in 2020 when she won Homecoming Queen, she especially enjoyed dressing up and getting to ride in the parade.
The classes Jennifer enjoyed the most was Mrs. Wyant’s and Mr. Hurley’s because they are both very funny. Outside of school, Jennifer enjoys spending time with family and going to church. After High School, Jennifer plans to attend college.
The people she admires most are her brothers because they are very nice and give good hugs, they are also her favorites. The thing Jennifer will miss the most about Milan C-2 High School is her friends. The advice Jennifer would give underclassmen is, “Make sure to work hard and get good grades.”

The baseball game scheduled today (4-14-22) Vs Princeton has been postponed due to muddy field conditions. The rescheduled date will be finalized next week.

🎓 SENIOR SPOTLIGHT 🎓
Jocelyn Perez Cruz will be a 2022 graduate of Milan C-2 High School and is the daughter of Aurelia Cruz and sister of Jessica, Jacquelyn, Melvin, Leilani, Gamaliel, and Jesus. Her favorite activity to do with her family is spending the holidays together. Her favorite childhood memory is when she bit her dentist's finger after he accidentally poked her gums (sorry Dr. Herbst).
During her Milan C-2 career, Jocelyn has been involved in Basketball (4 years); Softball (4 years); Student Council (4 years) where she served as Reporter (2 years); Fellowship of Christian Athletes (2 years); Science Club (2 years); FFA (4 years) where she served as Assistant Reporter, Reporter, and Vice President; National Honors Society (1 year); 4-H (4 years) where she has served as Reporter (1 year) and President (3 years); Baseball Manager (1 year); and Tech Intern (3 years). And in 2021, she was crowned as the Sullivan County Fair Queen, Milan FFA Barnwarming Queen, and Milan Homecoming Queen.
The activity she enjoys most is FFA because she has had some of her best memories within the organization, and has learned many lessons and skills that will stay with her throughout life. Jocelyn’s two favorite high school memories are winning Homecoming Queen and the moments after winning the District Championship game against Trenton her senior year.
The class she enjoyed the most was her Tech Intern class because she loves being able to help people and enjoys the relief on teachers' faces when she resolves the problem. Her biggest pet peeve is when people touch her, especially her head even after she has asked them to stop.
Outside of school, Jocelyn enjoys driving around with friends and being involved in her community. If she had one wish it would be to take one last lap around the track with her distance team and great friend Draven Barton. The words that best describe her are hard-working, reliable, and independent as well as comical.
After High School, Jocelyn plans to study for an associate's degree in Criminal Justice which will assist her in the pursuit of becoming a Missouri State Trooper. In 10 years, she sees herself working for the Missouri State Highway Patrol and serving the community. She also hopes to be married, own a home, and have a dog or two. Three things on her bucket list are to return to her birth state Colorado and attend a Broncos game, visit the Frio River in Texas, and watch Hamilton on Broadway.
The person she admires the most is her mother because her mother raised her and her two sisters on her own and taught them to have a good work ethic and to accept responsibility. Jocelyn says her mother will always be her biggest inspiration, for more reasons than she can even begin to imagine.
The teachers/coaches that had the biggest impact on Jocelyn are the Dodsons. Mr. and Mrs. Dodson both push Jocelyn to be the best version of herself. Mr. Coach Dodson pushed her out of her comfort zone her junior year of softball and had her swinging on the left side where she found success as a switch hitter. Mrs. Dodson allowed her to join the tech team in its early stages and gave her the freedom to be creative while helping the school expand within its technological advances. Jocelyn would like to add, “Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Dodson for being great mentors and always believing in me.”
The thing Jocelyn will miss the most about Milan C-2 High School is walking into the office to just chat with the office squad. If there was one way she could be remembered at MHS, it would be as the girl that could be equally one of the girls, as well as one of the boys, always willing to give advice or help when it was needed. The advice Jocelyn would give underclassmen is, “High school may be scary and no one is going to hold your hand, but it will shape you. When teachers get on to you and redirect you it’s for your own good so take it easy on them, after all, they want you to succeed! So hang on tight, enjoy the ride, and just keep on L I V I N.”
Jocelyn wanted to add, “To all the parents who have driven, fed, and housed me--thank you. Whether you realize it or not, you too have helped shape me into the person I am today. I have been incredibly blessed with a community that looks out for one another.” -The Last JP

🎓 SENIOR SPOTLIGHT 🎓
Jorge Solano will be a 2022 graduate of Milan C-2 High School and is the son of Juan Gabriel Solano and Felipa Bahena and brother of Yovani, Oscar, and David Solano. His favorite activity to do with his family is getting together for barbecues.
Jorge has been involved in basketball for 2 years at Milan C-2. His favorite high school memory is when he first arrived in Milan and got to participate in activities for the first time as well as be a part of such a diverse school.
The class Jorge enjoyed the most was Personal Finance because of the constant laughs and jokes he had with Mrs. Yocom whom he says is cool.
Outside of school, Jorge enjoys spending time with his family. If he had one wish it would be to have his parents and youngest brother here in the United States with him.
After High School, Jorge plans to enroll into a college program. Three things on his bucket list are to travel around the world, skydive, and ride a hot air balloon.
The people he admires most are his parents because given the circumstances, they are unable to physically be here to guide him through certain life events, but they always cheer him on from afar and make him feel loved and supported from Mexico.
The teacher that had the biggest impact on Jorge is Mrs. Yocom because she always aids him in moments where he needs assistance. She never gets frustrated with him when he does not understand something; as a matter of fact she always makes jokes to make him feel better and more comfortable when he walks into her class. She is a great teacher and he is glad he got to be in her class.
The thing Jorge will miss the most about Milan C-2 High School is his friends. If there was one way he could be remembered at MHS, it would be as an individual who did not let his obstacles stop him from continuing his education to earn his diploma. The advice Jorge would give underclassmen is, “Never let obstacles stop you from achieving your goals; doubt causes more failure than trying does.”

Reminders: There will be no school Friday 4/15/22 to Monday 4/18/22.
