4th grade students need to arrive at school at 7:15 A.M for our Science City field trip on 4/14/22. The bus will depart at 7:30 and will return to school by 2:45. Wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes. No electronics are allowed and students do not need to bring money.

🎓 SENIOR SPOTLIGHT 🎓
Elizabeth Nicole Buell will be a 2022 graduate of Milan C-2 High School and is the daughter of Andrea and Steve Hill of Milan, and Derek Buell of Saint Joseph. Elizabeth is the sister of Sierra (Issac) Chamberlain of Chillicothe, and Riley and Olivia Buell of Saint Joseph. Her favorite activity to do with her family is family movie night.
Elizabeth has been involved in FFA (3), Art Club (3), and FBLA (4) at Milan C-2. The activity she enjoys most is FBLA because of all the fun opportunities to learn what business is about and why it's important.
The class Elizabeth enjoyed the most was intervention class because her classmates and Miss Doak made her day just being themselves. Her biggest pet peeve is when people chew gum loudly.
Outside of school, Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her niece and sister. If she had one wish it would be to go to Alaska to see the Northern Lights. The three words that best describe her are independent, compassionate, and adventurous.
After High School, Elizabeth plans to attend 2 years of college at MACC then transfer down to Baylor University in Waco, Texas to study to become a nurse. In 10 years, she sees herself working as a nurse and helping out on her farm in Texas in her spare time. Three things on her bucket list are to travel to Greece, get her BSN, and to go ziplining.
The person she admires most is Miss Doak because she is a great person to talk to when you need help with anything, and she is a great problem solver.
The thing Elizabeth will miss the most about Milan C-2 High School is all the great memories that were made with her friends and family. The advice Elizabeth would give underclassmen is to not let anything hold you back.

It's a great week for Wildcat Baseball with three home games! Last night was a close one vs La Plata, we have Linn Co tonight & finish the week with a GRC matchup on Thursday vs Princeton. The weather is going to be beautiful, come down to the field at 5 to support our Cats!


3rd-4th grade students that earned their AR points for the year will travel to Main Event 4/12/22. The bus will leave at 6:30 am. 1 hour of all you can play card, 2 pieces of pizza & a soda included. (may bring extra money for more games) Students will return at 2:30 pm.

🎓 SENIOR SPOTLIGHT 🎓
Samuel Cordero Castruita will be a 2022 graduate of Milan C-2 High School and is the son of Noelia Castruita and brother of Jane Cordero and Ariana Cordero.
The activity he enjoys most is writing because it helps him relax whilst also having a fun time. Outside of school, he has a relatively quiet life and often spends his time writing.
After High School, he plans to pursue a potential career as a voice actor, which is a profession in which people provide voiceover work for various media, such as film, animation, video games, etc.
The teacher that had the biggest impact on Samuel is Ms. Melissa Gray because she was the figure who helped him realize who he really was in terms of his creative skills.
The advice Samuel Cordero Castruita would give to underclassmen is, “The greatest people are children at heart.”

Erika Karina Gutierrez will be a 2022 graduate of Milan C-2 High School and is the daughter of David and Adelina Gutierrez. Her favorite activity to do with her family is to go outside and have family cookouts. Her favorite childhood memory is when her dad would paint her nails and her mom would dress her up to go shopping.
Erika has been involved in Softball - 2 years, National Honors Society - 1 year, Science Olympiad - 2 years, Science Club - 1 year, FBLA - 3 years, and Multicultural Club - 2 years at Milan C-2. The activity she enjoys most is P.E. because she enjoyed playing volleyball. Her favorite high school memory is playing UNO in Mrs. Davis with Kassie and Lexi.
The class Erika enjoyed the most was Geometry because she is good at it and understood it. She also liked how Mr. Wilcox would always have fun while teaching. Her biggest pet peeve is whenever people try to talk over someone. Outside of school, Erika enjoys spending time with her family and enjoys going on car rides and listening to music. If she had one wish it would be to be able to pay back her parents for everything they have done for her. The three words that best describe her are outspoken, ambitious, and compassionate.
After High School, Erika plans to attend Northwest for 4 years. In 10 years, she sees herself being married and having 2 kids and being an OBGYN. Three things on her bucket list are to travel, ride a horse, and go to Disney World.
The person she admires most is her mom and her dad because they came to this place when they were really young with nothing but they continued to give her everything. The teacher that had the biggest impact on Erika is Mrs. Van because she helped her a lot during her junior year and she always felt safe talking to her. It didn't matter if it was a school problem or a personal problem, Mrs. Van was always there for her.
The thing Erika will miss the most about Milan C-2 High School is playing volleyball with friends. If there was one way she could be remembered at MHS, it would be for getting good grades. The advice Erika would give underclassmen is, “Don’t care what other people think, in a couple years from now their opinion isn't going to matter.”

🎓 SENIOR SPOTLIGHT 🎓
John Ray De La Cruz will be a 2022 graduate of Milan C-2 High School and is the son of Hilario De La Cruz and Idalia Maldonao and brother of Leslie De La Cruz. His favorite activity to do with his family is go out and eat and just spend the day together. His favorite childhood memory is when his family would just stay home all day and watch movies together in the living room.
John Ray has been involved in Football (3), Basketball (2), Track (2), FBLA (4), Art (3), and Tech Intern (1) while at Milan C-2. He also received honors including: All-Conference outside linebacker, All-District outside linebacker, KMZU Dream Team, and outside linebacker of the year twice throughout his Football career. The activity he enjoys most is football because it made him mentally and physically stronger, the sport made him step up and become a leader. His favorite high school memory was getting to experience going to the Final Four his Sophomore year. It was a good time being with the whole team and just having fun, then going to Skyzone and having a blast with the team.
The class John Ray enjoyed the most was Art class because all his friends are there and he likes to draw and be creative.
Outside of school, John Ray enjoys working out, running, or just going out with friends. If he had one wish it would be running track with his long distance friend Draven Barton who would always stick to John Ray’s side. The three words that best describe him are hard working, courageous, and ambitious.
After High School, John Ray plans to attend a trade school and get his license in plumbing. In 10 years, he sees himself opening up his own business, making money, and being successful in life. Three things on his bucket list are building his dream house, traveling, and having his own crew.
The person he admires most is his dad because he has always been in John Ray’s corner and always believed in John Ray becoming the best. His dad taught him how to become a hard working man and to work for everything he wants in life. The coach that had the biggest impact on John Ray is Coach Cole because he has always talked to him on and off the field to take on the responsibility to become a leader.
The thing John Ray will miss the most about Milan C-2 High School is the volleyball tournaments, the games would get really competitive. The advice John Ray would give underclassmen is, “Always stay positive and keep your head up high even when times get hard, always keep on pushing forward.”

The Varsity Baseball Game at La Plata has been cancelled today 4-6-22 due to field conditions. It will be rescheduled to 4-11-22. The location has been changed to Milan for a 5:30 PM Start.

3rd grade will be attending a field trip to Shatto Dairy Farm on 4/7/22. The bus will leave at 8:20 am. Students can bring money in a Ziplock bag if they would like to purchase any extra treats. They return home at 3:00.
